Koufax: You're welcome
and thank you. This statue should be of aluminium yet you had to make it look like green bronze on his request. That sound odd.. hehe
One thing to remember when it comes to bronze like this is that there are almost an infinite amount of variations on what it can look like so my suggestions and tips originates from my personal taste and idea of what would make your model stand out and really look like oxidized bronze, it might not be correct or the best approach.
Often oxidized bronze like this one found on statues have oxide built up in tight areas and from there it fades out into the bronze, this is where a dirtshader or a AO map would do a good job as a base for your Maxwell bronze shader. And then the oxide is not that reflective, it's quite dull looking and then you find some semi-reflectivity on the cleaner parts of the statue where there's no or very little oxide. What you can do here is use a similar method to what i used on that horse rendering you saw. There i created a dirtmap in C4D, rendered it from the same camera viewpoint as my Maxwell rendering was and then blended in the dirt with my Maxwell rendering in Photoshop to fake the look. It worked pretty well. And you could use the same method here as long as you have a good bronze baseshader in Maxwell to work with you can do most of the work in Photoshop.
I include some nice looks of oxidized bronze you'll find on statues, busts and similar.

These looks are quite typical and common, but if you have any statues in your city where you live grab your camera, go and snap a couple of pics of them and see how the oxide is distributed across the figure. You will find that some are almost completly oxidized while others have very little, this i guess depends on for how long they been outdoors and in what type of weatherconditions they are (air humidity should affect bronze alot). I also made a few bronze shaders like this with both Maxwell and the other engine and i had some good results with them, and i know you can do it even better than me.
