Seems all apps don’t read & write obj the same way.

yes obj ascii (text) and obj binär
Topmod inport obj ascii not all obj binär
Topmod export obj ascii not obj binär

modo is not good of topmod (obj binär, no ascii)
silo I do not know
3dsmax very well for topmod
softimage |3d very well for topmod
softimage xsi I do not know

Cinema 4D accepts objs from TopMOD very well!
