yeah I agree with you...but Mattel only pays me for the "exterior shell" so without going in and adding thicknesses, i just run what I have...if I had more time, I would certainly go for the mac daddy realism of thicknesses etc...

These images I did mostly for myself to learn Maxwell, and to give as a little promotional to the designers of these cars (the clients, who are super cool guys btw...) - They were impressed, and it has led to other work that pays...(which was the whole idea) BTW, you can buy any of these cars at your local toys store or eBay-

I did these quick and dirty, I have a cone that has the background image mapped to it, I use one large-ish emitter overhead, and two smaller kicker emitters...with multi light I just twiddle them until I get something I like- I plan on playing with the environment channels a little more on future shots-
