Mattia ... always spectacular.

Question : The render with the Boticelli painting .. , there's so much stuff in that scene I have to ask -- Do you remember how long it took to create that scene (model, texture, render) ? It's kind of mind numbing looking at all that work .. Impressive.

ps. I have to add this .. My take on people in renders is that, ..sure, they kind of ruin the scene, and nearly every CG artist seems to be against them -- but clients tend to appreciate it or have little concern about them. It has to some degree become a sort of cliché for 3D people to always ask for their removal. You just have to look past them .. A necessary evil at times.

He he, since the girl is the focus point of both your kind answers (i am thanking you for), i guess i'll have to give an explaination.

This has been a work for a client, as ivox supposed, that every time i finish an image ask me why the rooms are always empty...and this image was meant to be some kind of answer!

Btw, i really hope that he will nail the message and wouldn't be enthusiast about that, otherwise i will have to render always a second image for myself :)

Concerning the image, tents and luster were from archive3D, plants from Evermotion, the remaining was custom modeled.
Half a day if i remember corerctly for the room itself, 30mins for the table, a couple hours for sofas, maybe 3 because they are watertight models, half an hour for the Porto bottle, a couple hours for the bar, then half a day for overall setup and materials. No Uvs anyway, everything has a cubic mapping.
It's maybe weird that i have spent a lot of time for that project i order to find and correct the right image for the carpet!
The image looks quite rich but actually there is not so much modeled, and the materials are relatively simple...but if it looks as if i had spent on it a lot of time, then i hit the target!

Anyway, thanks again for your kind words :D

Oh gosh....i am realizing just now that my last year had been quite busy...last update had been inOctober 2009!!!
Anyway, haven't had time for decent archiviz, mostly lowest profile jobs and a lot of time for my new studio and coworking space!
I am really hoping not to have lost the touch, even if from the other galleries i've just sneeked into, the average level raised A LOT.
Good to know, since i am sure that i will receive a huge amount of critics that i hope will help me to recover the time lost!
