Dumb question - 'protect geometry'

Now, this is going to be a silly question but I can't remember what the 'protect geometry' switch does in the XSI Maxwell render PPG? I've had a look in the manual but can't seem to find it.

I guessing it is used for animations when only the camera moves i.e. all geometry is un-changing but I just wanted confirmation from someone.

Cheers,

By default, if you open a MXS in Studio, you can export parts of its geometry to other files. This can be disabled if you want to protect your work from being copied. When that checkbox is ticked in XSI, the MXS which is created when you render or export the scene is protected, so the export functionality in Studio is disabled (rendering and editing still work).

Thanks for clearing that up.
