Camera with Polygonal Diaphragm crashes

Well, the title says it all!
I have a simple scene in XSI and am rendering with the Maxwell plugin. Everytime I change the camera diaphragm to polygonal I get this error in XSI's Script Editor window;
// ERROR : Cannot export scene to file 'D:\DOCUME~1\Richard\LOCALS~1\Temp\XSI_Temp_3564\\xsiExportTmpdec.mxs'.
// Message: Error: Errors detected in scene creation phase. MXS will not be created. (in method writeMXS)
If I change it back to circular it renders ok.
It's not critcal for my project but I thought I'd let you know.
