from what I understand, the lisences will be sorted out in this next release - along with many new goodies - I can't wait until we Maya users finally get the DOF, abbe, motion blur, animation,.... and Volumetrics!!!! I can't believe it I'm going to Las Vegas next weekend with long time friends and I'll be thinking about Maxwell the whole time!!!!
... well, maybe not the whole time....

jep, you could always take a laptop with you, just think you'd be the life of the party hehe
Hope you win something

I'm curious whether a new release will be spanish time or los angeles time, since nextlimit has offices in both cities, anyone know?
Cheers
Brett

I hope you maya users get a wonderful new plug! You have been weathering this period very well - I think we all will be pleasantly surprised.

I guess all of us are going to have the same plugin (a exporter), and we will do everything else inside maxwell (textures, cameras, etc.)
just a wish

iker,
I think that's the evantual goal... might not be there entirely with this next release, but I think within the next two releases we'll see it.

if you go look at the thread I started about ideas for customer support in the Maxwell Render section - take a look at the last couple of posts from oskit and oscar... doesn't it look like they're hinting at something today? or is it just me reading into things?

Hi all,
We are having some delay, but we are just finishing some minor issues and testing.
The most important new features of this new version are real global illumination motion blur ( from moving objects or moving the camera, if for example the camera is moving and some objects have the same speed and direction than the camera, then this objects will look without motion blur ), fog, clipmap, bitmap-region renderer, it works in linux and mac, and the engine have been optimized. Less noise in the same render time.
Best regards,

Awesome Oscar! thanks for getting me even more excited! hahaha
REAL camera motion blur is sweet! I'm so tired of PRman not being able to do camera motion blur properly (among other things)... even of you use Multi-Seg, take a camera... animate a twirl in it and render with motion blur... you'll see blatant steppiness. Just curious, when you refer to a clipmap, what do you mean? clipping planes?
So, do you still think you'll get it out this week?

Hi Jep,
By clipmap I refer something like an opacity map, but instead of grey values, only white and black values. When this texture is applied to an object, then black values have the effect of not being visible in the render.
This is a simple example of a cube with a clipmap applied.
We are doing the possible to have this version avalaible by the end of this week, or by the begining of the next one.
