In an ideal/real world in 48hrs you would be able to render an animation of this BUT, this is the world of Maxwell and 48hrs is unfortunately nothing...The only way to get rid of the noise is to render it for longer, or use neat image..

Nice model!, I think there's some stuff you can do, perhaps your reflectance values are too high?(it's really specular and hot), do a search on the site for tips. I got frustrated right out of the box too but there's a lot of info in the forum from users and the NL guys that will set you on the right track.
I agree that 48 hours is insane, you should be able to get something in 8-10 or at the most half that time. Version 1.0 is out soon and they are claiming 10x speed increases so perhaps that may solve some of your problems.

I think you have some reflectances problems there, cause metal parts are much cleaner than plastics. Check this link to learn something about it:
