Maya "file" nodes

Can anybody shed some light on how to use "file" nodes in Maya with MR? When i'm assigning some file node to a "color" connection in the MR diffuse material, object with it just renders totally black.
Am i doing something wrong, or file nodes doesn't supported yet?

PS: And also - is there any possibility to prevent Maxwll from being default renderer every time i start Maya(except of manual deletion of this code from MR mel scripts)?

you have to put the file in color map slot. Be carefull, Maxwell can only use RGB. Personnaly I use RGB TGA files...

Uhmm. But then why there's still this "connection square" near the "color" attribute? Aaaand....what about custom UV placement?

i'm working with JPEGs and it renders alright for me. I use them because its a lighter file than the TGAs.
About the custom UV placemant, you do that normaly in the Texture Editor.
