Can't Unload Maps

Once you load a map, unloading it (that is, Break Connection) doesn't actually work, and the shader renders as though the map was still attached.
I created a plastic shader, and mapped a texture into the Specular Map channel. Then I did Break Connections, so there was no map referenced in the shader at all, and it still rendered as though it was!
Although, you can SWITCH maps to a different one in a channel you've already mapped, you just can't go back to a raw shader. You have to start over with a fresh shader.
