I can't seem to figure this out but the normal maps in mxm shaders don't render from Maya 2009 (OS X). I opened them in Photoshop to make sure they aren't compressed TIFFs, I tried flipping green, but nothing works. I know the UVs are fine and if I render the normal map with Mental Ray in a lamber, it works fine.

fixed it - I didn't realize that normal maps are affected by the depth value.
Will there be a Maxwell Render 6 ?
