when i start batchrender in maya2009(win64-bit), the renderer switches from maxwell to mayasoftware and starts to render!
can somebody confirm that strange behavior?
this was no problem using maya2008(win64-bit)...
thx for feedback!

It's a known bug, it will be fixed in the next build.

that's not funny, 100's of frames are not to be done manually

manually?
1. export-mxs with animation checked in maya
2. start maxwell-render-app
3. load first mxs
4. fill-in desired animation-range
5. click render!
the worst case is that you need an extra HD, because of the huge amount of diskspace...

I did it but studio loads only the first MXS, I couldn't find how to tell it that there are others ... ?

hi choo-chee,
do not use studio for rendering!
open maxell-render app instead...choose Render-Options-tab...in the lower left corner you will find the inputfield FRAMES
mxcl.exe -d
opens a blank maxwell-render window...
does it work?

how do you input frame numbers? I tried typing "1-50" yet it appears that MR changes the numbering of my MXS....here it is:
[11/February/2009 16:14:41] Reading MXS:D:/farm/salon-detail1_0001.mxs
ERROR: - MXS file does not exist
ERROR: - Render Failed
my scenes are :
D:/farm/salon-detail1_1.mxs
D:/farm/salon-detail1_2.mxs
D:/farm/salon-detail1_3.mxs
etc....

in maya renderglobals under COMMON-tab choose name.#.ext and set framepadding to 4
so your files should be named:
salon-detail.0001.mxs
salon-detail.0002.mxs
salon-detail.0003.mxs
...
now it should work!?!
