Do you mean "emitters"?
- Create a simple poly plane
- Check normals to point to your target
- Create and assign a "emitter" material to your poly plane
- ...then render

Maya lights doesn't work with Maxwell

No you can't use them

GOOD news is that you CAN use spot or directional lights as your MAXWELL SUN!!!! in the new maxwell 1.7/new maya plugin!!

in your render globals there is a section inthe env that lets you control whether maxwell uses the sun based on geographic location or selected object!!!

This is a HUGE SUPRISE!!! THANSK NL!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!! I havnt been this excited about maxwell since alpha/beta days!
