little question.

can i run the 32 and 64 bit version of maya 8 together on my pc?

i've seen that the vector renderer is not available on my 64 bit maya and «i needs that precious» ...

what could be a problem ?

so the prefs and scripts are not changed/deleted in the 64 bit version when installing also the 32 bit version ?

well, i'll just save the prefs folder and the scripts to be sure then ... ?

I am not sure, but I always create new prefs when installing.
