UV MAP Problems

I posted this on the general topic and no one replyed maybe i will have better lucks here.

Can someone point me in the right direction when creating uv maps in maya.

I created simple three plane diecut and i wish to have the projection map on the whole polygon and not each individual polygon plane.

What am I doing wrong?

just select all your planes the same time and make a planar projektion -> done

also, in planar projection options, try the different axis if the UV dont look as expected. Yoour UV seems to be projected top down (Y axis)

Thanks guys. That helped out but i am still new to the UV idea, is there anything else on the net or here on the forums that would give me additional tips on UV editing.
