OT Help in Maya

This is not a Maxwell question but only Maya
I wonder if someone can help me here...

I am trying to deform an object in the same way the Sculpt Deformer does, except that I want it to work at 50% of its strength at the positive Y direction, and at 100% of its strenght at the negative Y direction, interpolating all other directions. Is that possible?

It is very hard to answer that when you dont have the specific thing in front of you, but heres a few suggestions to look into:

you could try to do that with lattices, or with blendshapes. You might also want to look into using multiple deformers to achieve your effect, i.e. using 1 deformer for the posivtive and 1 for the negative deformation.
