Where does Maxwell get its NURBS tessellation values from?

Bad grammar I know...ending with a preposition and all that...but anyway...:)

Hey guys.

Currently rendering a heavy scene with a load of NURBS pebbles (don't ask) and I can't for the life of me figure this out. Does the plug-in convert the geometry to polys on render, or is it using the objects tessellation values? Because no matter which settings I use, I'm getting the same number of triangles in MXCL.

Anybody have any suggestions? I'm going insaaaaaane... :D

Cheers,
Dr Merman

In Maya 8, "set render tesselation" dialog works fine for setting tesselation for Maxwell...
