Hi Alf

I have the same problem, I thought it was a bug that was fixed in the new alpha but I guess not :(

Anyone who has any comments/tips???

Cheers

I must confess the camera problem is really annoying, I would really like to use Maxwell on projects we are doing but I can't get the views we need! It's driving me mad...

I agree a save as function would be great.

Here's hoping there is a quick patch soon...

-The problems appears when you use the Maxwell Camera node only?

Yes, it only goes wierd when using the Maxwell camera

-Are you using the "Reset Camera on Creation" option, in the camera attributes menu?

Yes

Another weird problem is that when I change the camera resolution, ie from 320x240 to 800x600, the image zooms instead of just resizing the image.

Here's hope you can fix it soon..... :D

Thanks.

It is pretty difficult to use the plugin without using these settings but I guess I will just have to be patient...

Keep up the good work.

Hi All

I don't know whether this will help but I have found that if I use cm as my units the camera seems to work fine, switch to mm and it goes wierd.

I have also found that the zooming problem only occurs in the preview window, if you command line render or use the server, as I do, it works fine.

Cheers

Ok, a little extra. If you are doing an animation and you don't want the camera going pear shaped, check the 'maya centre of interest' press 't' and move it to point at the object you are modelling.

Getting there :D

OK guys sorry for the hassle, but I have a maxwell camera(using centre of interest, the cam is upright but the render is lopsided, is the only option till the next release to make another maxwell camera (I have avoided using the perspective camera at all for rendering) and cross your fingers, heres a funny looking render, looks kinda arty :P

PS: by the way if I try and render a 2k image, maxwell crashes, anyone else experienced this?

Brett

I think the only solution is to ditch the camera and start again.

Nice image :D

You mean mayall crashes!
cos it happens to me as well but I've seen bigger renders in the forum made with max maxwell plugin, so it has to be mayall.

bugger, seems each plugin has its little quirks, and importing a camera so often gets tedious, but hey, were playing with an alpha, its so damned exciting being able to light a scene so quickly and having it turn out in a way you're happy :D

Ita a WIP, cant wait to finish it, textures in the viewport, cant wait for that either hehe

cheers neil and iker

you can upright the camera if you make sure to set the up vector on misc tab of the maxwell camera to be 0,1,0

sometimes it gets wacky like, 0.2,0.98,0.2 then you get the lopsided render as above . . .

i have the 2k bug as well :(

cant wait for the next release!

ive found that each time you alter the camera's position you have to uncheck and then recheck maya's centre of interest for it to update in the render
