problem with mxm material

Hi,
I have problems with mxm materials.
Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
To create a new material, I use the hypershade, as always.
In the hypershade, I click on the mxm button.
Then, I click on the path button, in the attribute editor, then go to the mxm directory, choose a material, lightmetal, for example.
And Then I click on the "Maxwell Material Editor" button.
At this stage, nothing appends.
It doesn't appear in the material editor...
If I click on the "Browser" menu, and choose again a mxm material (they don't have any preview), it doesn't work: nothing in the Editor pannel...
What do I wrong?
It only works with some of mxm material (wood, AGS glass,...)
And sometimes, it becomes impossible to render the scene.
I tried to load new material from the website, this is the same problem.
And I don't talk about mapping problems...
So guys, help is very welcome!

Thank you.

Hmm, sounds really strange. If you open the Material Editor (Not from within maya), You cant edit/see the materials there either? I dont think the conection "Maya->Material Editor" works... The plugin is not up to date. (Still waiting)

SunlightRocker, yes I can edit and see the materials in the editor from studio.
You said the atribut editor in maya doesnt work? ??? ...
So the only way is to make the materials in the editor and save them and then, just click on the path button in maya atribut editor to link the material and the object???...

Yes, but You dont have to go trough Studio. Use the Material-editor-standalone. :)

When I map, I usually do that with a Lambert-material with the desired Texture on it. Map it as usual in Maya. Then when satisfied, change material to the .mxm -> Render, and the mapping should be right.

The object keeps the type of mapping?
So why do I have one render with repetitions on geometry?
Because I made a union boolean to have only one map on all objects?

Yes.. Mine does. Can you post a render to show exactly what you mean?
