OT Maya import from Max

Sorry for the off-topic but I need to know what Maya can import as I have a standard (not Maxwell) Max scene I need to send to someone who uses Maya. Any help on what is the best way to transfer from Max to Maya would be a great help.

I just realised that Max now has an .obj exporter (which it didn't used to have) so all's ok now thanks

has anyone else noticed that the Maya6.x tree has problems with DWG/DXF files?

If Maya can import fbx I'd recommend that over obj. I've had minor issues with obj, like some polys got flipped randomly. I've only exported fbx from XSI though and imported to Max, but fbx plugins should be pretty solid.

There seems to be some problem with 6.5 and dwg, it slows the save progess down to snails pace. I have never has any problems with dwg/dxf in 6.01 though....
