Maya MXDiffuse Shader Error

Has anyone ran into an error when you create a MXDiffuse shader in maya? Even if its not assigned to an object it prevents maxwell from rendering. I have to delete all my MXDiffuse nodes just to get rendering.
Here is the Error that appears when maxwell trys to render with a MXDiffuse shader in the scene:
-Mayall Error:
-Message: Error updating diffuse material

Then there is an OK button that brings me back into maya.
tryed it many different ways and scene setups but still no render with the MXDiffuse possible.
All other MX shaders work fine tough.

Can anyone HELP? or has anyone else run into this?
