Hi!

Its not possible to project textures trough maya plugin? all I get is a black image on the render when I try to use any kind of projection.

If it cant be done, how could I easily texture nurbs surfaces; until now, on polys I could use camera to set UVs, which got me the same result as projecting the textures; but now I'm trying to do the same on nurbs and I dont really find an easy way to do it. All I found is to paint some paint effects and save that as a texture, then scale the texture I've done trough snapshot or render of the object to the one I got from the painteffects way, and then I get my texture to fit into the object, but it would be a lot more easy if I could just project it.

Is there any way to do it? or is there something I'm missing?

Thanks,

Javier Navarro

maybe i sound stupid...but why not tesselate the nurbs and unwrapp your polys. in the end you have to tesselate your modell anyway for maxwell or?

Hola!

Sorry for taking so much time to reply, thanks for your answers, but:

- Whats "solid textures". Only way I've found for texture nurbs is painting it with paintfx and the use that texture as a base for my texture. Is there any other way?

- I can unwrapp polys but not nurbs, right? I dont get what you mean, I can change tesselation but that doesnt make that nurbs polygons or make unwrapeable that nurbs, as long as I know nurbs textures are just a square that then strech to fit the nurbs surface. If you mean why dont I convert my nurbs to polys, I'm trying to use nurbs cause I'm doing a scene that have a lot of plain surfaces, but with a lot of curves, you know the usual autocad draw that you have to use to make a lot of planars of it. If I just use polygons, I have to use a lot of detail on them so those curves on the surface doesnt look, well, low polygon; in the end with just the surfaces I cannot handle the scene. Thats why I was trying to use nurbs, I just do the plannars and activate advanced tesselation and adjust it to have a smooth surface.

Well thank you very much,

Javi
