If you've got a cool material setting you'd like to share, this is the place!
Just give us a link and a description.
Thanks for sharing!

Here is a material which resembles shiny red anodized aluminum - an effect which eluded me in the beta:

Slightly tinted experimental green glass.
Adjust attenuation to suit your scale model.
I will improve this version as time goes on, I am sure there are others that have much better versions.
I hope it serves all well!

I made a quick metallic carpaint material:
Hope you like it.
It is a brushed alluminium with thick coat on top (9000nm)

Once we get the working standalone userinterface which should hopefully be released on Tuesday next week then you should be able to load these shaders into it and use them in your renderings (unless the complex ior shaders are disabled.. i hope not). Anyways you're supposed to use these with RC5 and beyond, not with the beta.

I would rather like to see a whole forum area for material uploads, so each material gets its own thread. We could even have smaller threads or folders devoted to a particular material type, for example, glass.

Any chance for Lightwave based Surfase presets for maxwell? (for those who prefer beta 1.2.2)

Second to that.. this should be an area itself on the forum since the exchange of materials will save a huge amount of time for everyone.

I think in future releases of Maxwell, NL Team may add a basic surface presets for each app. this should help newbies and keep us from spending time on routine work.
