I'm getting a weird issue with UW mapping ( from Sketchup export)
basically its arroway textures am using, creating the mxm is not a problem, ditto with the Sketchup counterpart, but when i render it says:

ERROR: - UVW channels ( 1 ) on object "Obj_stone 40" not enough for material "stone 40"

Since the textures comes from arroway ( huge sizes) i'm wondering what i can do to solve it... any hint?

thnx
Nils

try to switch to channel 0 (in the materials editor) - I remember this used to fix the problem when I had that error message.

Its really a strange bug, never happened before with any textures / mxm at all.

Any hint? Someone from NL? Mihai?

In that case you should also use channel 0 for the objects that is using this material. Edit object parameter UV channel to "0"

Kurt,
Thnx for your help!
Where the hell can i set this ( am using Sketchup with auto mxm export).. i have no way to modify UW setting directly in Sketchup, all i can modify is the way the texture is defined, positioned, tiled etc but no numerical setting is available..

I guess you should have posted this in the sketchup section, but here is a workaround:
open the mxs-file that SU creates in maxwell studio. In studio you can edit the setting in the object parameter tab.

Gosh i think i've found the bug: a student was doing the new textures...and in a reflectance map hit channel 7 in one of the bdsf layers of the mxm...then duplicated the mxm to create the new one etc> making the whole library unable to open...had to reassign the whole mxm's channels on every faulty bdsf...
I'm not sure i understand what the channels are used for thu but hey now it is solved ( and has nothing to do with SU)

cheers
