Bubbles in glass

Hi all- I got to thinking as I am moving my studio..... how would you set up a transparent material to have bubbles or other imperfections inside the material? I could see this being useful for ice cubes and would eventually like to render gemstones with inclusions but have wondered if these imperfections would have to be modeled or if there was a way or creating an imperfect material?

I would love to hear your thoughts.

foe best results, you'll have to model them and include them inside your glass..
