MXM downloaded from MXM site> how to

I have the problem each time i'm trying to add a new downloaded material
i put the mxm in the mxm folder, and the jpg's into a texture folder i have made in the same maxwell subdirectory: the problem is all links from mxm to the materials have disappeared and material editor asks for finding the link, which i give, but it does not find them automatically> i have to remap them by hand..
When its only a normal and a bump its fine and easy, but when its a complicated 6 layers material ( example bubble wrap paper) and i need to rename the jpgs first ( because i already have a normal.jpb or bump.jpg) then its hard to know where they go at first place on the mxm ( what layer)...there use to have in 1.7.0 and before a hovering mouse option that told me what material was the mxm expecting, but it does not work anymore...

How can i be sure of where to put those damn textures! grrr :)
Is there any good easy way??? thnx for your input :)

After you download the mxm and unzip it, open it from that folder in MXED and do a "save as" and save it where you want. Then it will ask you if you want to copy the textures into a "textures" folder.

If you're renaming the textures, then you have to reapply them in the material because it's looking for the old names. There is no way it can know what the new textures are called. Or have I misunderstood something? What I usually do is place the mxm and the textures in the same folder, and organize them by material type, this way it will automatically look in the same folder the mxm is in and save a lot of trouble.
