Cross post from Rhino- different appearance of brushed mat.

Hi everyone- Sorry about the cross post- I should have posted here first but I usually post in the Rhino forum so.....
I have been using brushed finishes quite a bit but have been having an issue with my material looking VERY different on different shaped objects or even on objects where I have the brushed finish going in a different direction.
Is there something that I can do differently with my material that would make it more translatable to different shapes? I don't want to waste a lot of time fiddling with bump and displacement for every model that I create. Or is this something that is normal to do? Here is a screen shot of some sample shapes with the exact same material applied but the brushed finish is traveling in different directions. Thanks in advance
