Is there a fry > Maxwell > fry material converter?

Now, I know this may be frowned upon and it may appear sacrilegious but I was wondering whether anyone knows of (or could write) a fry to Maxwell or Maxwell to fry material converter?

I'm not a programmer but I seem to remember a vRay to Maxwell converter script for Max a while back, so maybe it's possible?

I'm not trying to start a war of words about the advantages of the two renderers but I have both, as do many others here, and I just wondered if it was possible to convert the materials between the two? So that a project started in one could be picked up in the other.

You should convert them manually, a automatic converter can never do it correctly with good enough precision as it now differs quite a bit between both engines materialsystems, although the basic similarity when looking at parameters only is there it's still more trouble than it's worth to code a converter tool for this job when you can do it manually much faster and much better with very little effort. I've done this more than once myself, it's not rocketscience Ozzie. :)

Max,

thanks for the quick reply. I know I should do it manually but with quite a few materials in my latest project I was hoping for a quicker way!

There could ofcourse be a converter for it, but as far as i know there's non. And no one probably will code one because of Fry's betastatus, all the last minute codechanges makes the converter invalid with every release of Fry. I sure wouldn't code one for it. :)

What you could do is hire someone to do the dirtywork for you (hint hint) :D ..someone who's willing to convert materials for a couple of pennies..
