Hi

I've downloaded Tom's ice material from http://mxmgallery.maxwellrender.com/sea ... search=ice

... But I can't get it to work as showed. I've loaded up the standard material scene, and added ice to the TEST OBJECT. but the results I'm getting are really even not close.

Ok, It's small, but something should be showing at SL 15 or am I wrong?

Have I missed something? damn.. I must have :)

Thanks for making me aware of this. Probably this material has been affected by a small change/fix to material SDK or I've uploaded a wrong copy. But no problem, it's now fixed and uploaded. In order to have same quality, I guess you'd need to render up to SL20 or 21.

Thanks Tom, I'll try it out. I'll see whichever sample level my current laptop can achieve in a reasonable time

So, still look kinda the same. But you're telling me this will start looking like your ice above SL 20?

Bjorn, .. don't you know ? Tom's ice is what ice looks like at -273K.

Yeah ... something wrong with that one. :)

It looks like this material is affected by a known bug with Subsurface vs. attenuation. Try removing Subsurface layer, increasing attenuation and adding Subsurface back with same parameters.

ok, I'll try that.

Increasing attenuation on the Frozen layer only? then one that had the subsurface?

By how much you reckon? it's at 2 cm now...
