I wanted to rate 8 the metal plate material but i released mouse button at the wrong moment when i was on 5....sorry bheware...

So, 2 proposals:

-1 It would be nice to introduce a confirmation window for the vote expressed.

-2 Since there are still some idiots that wander the mxm site giving unfairly low rates to the materials (and this always happens during competitions, so strange...), i guess the algorythm used to compute the average rating should be modified by excluding for example the two lowest and two highest ratings expressed, at least as soon as thye material has enough ratings to build a solid average. This is not arbitrary but scientific, it is a commonly used strategy for excluding results affected by abnormal causes.

Hi!

Thanks for the feedback.

To be honest, we've been looking into changing the rating system many times and we have consider a lot of possibilities. And, well, there is not a perfect system.

Current system is intended to reward quality and quantity. It can be challenging to new users to get on top of the rating, though.

We also detected that some users were involved in a "fight", as to say and were continuously rating down certain users' materials. And we made them aware of this unfair and non-ethic behavior, and seems like the situation has calmed down.

About rating down during contests... I think all people know that is nonsense, as the NL team does not take into account the users votings for giving the prizes.

Your idea of getting rid of extreme rates is a good one. Thanks.

Well, you know Beatriz...we are all kind of geeks and pretty ridicously proud of our results (at least this is true for me), so that a low rate is a kind of declaration of war!
Well, maybe it is time to pay more attention for my girfriend, even if she is not so amazingly iridescent as a coated film of gasoline!
