Too many textures

At first the thought of having the 1500 textures was exciting. Now that I have them,

I used to go to my METALS folder and see a bunch of previews that I could visually seek out an appropriate material. Now, with each texture nested in a folder with its textures, I have to know what material i am searching for. This is further complicated by the fact that some names of materials are cryptic at best and offer no idea as to what the preview will look like.

What is the best workflow to see them in MXED and MXST via the material browsers?

I posted my solution to this here:

It takes time, but once you've done it once, you'll have the library set up nicely forever.

At least as long as the next maxwell version will recognice the materials you spent so much time on....

Nice idea, but as said before: I'd wish NL to have a certain name convention for materials, used maps and have the preview picture from the website named the same way as the material.

Normally I do it that way: I download the mxm file, but before clicking "save" I copy the name of the mxm/zip file. Then open the preview on the website, rightclick and "save picture as..." and paste (ctrl+v) the same name as the mxm/zip filename to find the material to the preview back.
