Material Editor Defaults/Preferences

Is there a way, or are there any plans to implement, any sort of preferences or defaults for the Material Editor. For example, the default Quality Level (Preview Options->Quality) is set to 4. This, at least for me, is completely useless. I cannot tell anything at this level and I'm always changing it (along with my other "preferences") to a more suitable value(s). It would be helpful if there was a way to set these values as a preference.

open studio, search for preferences (in mac mxstudio > preferences) and changes the settings under materials, it will affect also the standalone mxed.

jpd, thanks so much for the help. This works for setting render quality (and this will certainly help), but not for render "style". Is there a way to reassign the defaultpreview to one of my choosing. For example, if I always wanted to use Jose's (preview_jose), is there a way to set that as well?
Thanks again,
Ken

purCAB, thanks for using my preview

You can allways change the name of both files, change defaultpreview.mxs to something like default_old.mxs and preview_jose.mxs as defaultpreview.mxs
Both are located in /Next Limit/Maxwell/preview folder
You can make your own modifying any of the available scenes

Jose, thanks for the help...and the preview scene.
Perhaps it would be of help to add this info to the documentation so it's easier for others to find.
Finally, what about letting mxed have its own (separate) preferences .
