hi - i'm searching for a nice homogenous material (just one color, no textures) for statues or sculptures.

i'm not sure if it should be glossy or matte like porcelaine or gypsum...

but it should show nice contrasts under museal light.

any ideas ? would be much appreciated ! thanks !

Koufax: :) thanks but my shader was just too easy, it's more in the lightsetup itself than in the material in that scene.

Something like what Kurt suggested in his latest post from CGTalk, that's a good one. A baked dirtmap or by using the cavityshader from Zbrush which you then bake there and export as a map could do the job nicely and then you add some faint roughnessmaps to get variations in the shinyness of the rest of the marblesurface (the non-dirty parts).
