Maxwell Visual IOR Browser

Hello All,

Thanks to the amazing work done by Tyrone Marshall, hdesbois, and many other Maxwellians, I am happy to offer this simple application for working with .ior files:

Image

download application
download ior/thumbs zipfile

Operation is quite simple:

- pick a catalog from the drop-down list
- click a thumbnail to select the .ior file - the path to the .ior will be put on the clipboard
- drag-drop the .ior path from a thumbnail to another application's textbox
- click 'Edit Selected IOR File Data' to open the selected .ior file
- use the toolbar button on the right to toggle 'Always On Top' behavior

Before you run the application, unzip the database into the Maxwell directory. After this is done, you are free to change/add-to the database, it's just a simple directory-tree that uses identically-named *.ior and *.png files in sibling folders ('thumbs', and 'iors'), located in parent 'Catalog' folders, which are located under the database root: [ProgramFiles]\Next Limit\Maxwell.

Cheers.

JD

*note: this application will only run in the presence of a licensed version of Maxwell Render

Thx Jeremy, but I can't make it work here. Running XP64. Installs ok, but when starting the program it founds an error while loading ior database. Any clue?

EDIT: Nico were faster :)

Could it have to do with me running a dutch version of windows?

I use an English one. Maybe with that path: All users.windows which I don't have here...

That's interesting Fernando. Windows is supposed to have that path, it's not encoded as a string in my code, but as a 'known place' that's supposed to be available on every machine...but I'll try writing to another folder...

Does it has to be exactly: /All users.WINDOWS/ ?

I have: \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data

Jeremy, I found the problem, in the Application Data folder there is in my case a zip file (temp.zip)
when I unzip it in the "Application Data" folder I have a map called "Maxwell Visual IOR Database"

Now it works!!!!!
