Thanks for the comments. The real tablet I scanned to get the image map was by Bonnat, a small scale chocolate maker from the french Alps, who does some truly great chocolates.

Actually, I managed to save a small part of it for reference purposes

, but you really should try this chocolate brand one day.
Neither my scanner or screen are properly calibrated, so I have some trouble to tell the right colors. But if you check the map :

It's darker and not as reddish as on the render. Even if I use uncompressed targa version and nothing else than a single lambertian layer, the color tends to wash out a bit.

so you're saying I should really try it... ok will try to look for..
I am thinking it is bit redish maybe because of the lighting...? dunno, maybe try a colder emitter like 6000k
....

waou, nice and tasty Henri ! I noticed the red shifting but IMO it adds to the realism of the mat ! Nice work on the textures too, very subtile!
