The objects in the pictures look hollow ... which brings the question: Is your modeled object also hollow ?

Hi, i just thought that after posting, apparently the plastic is 1mm thick so i have extruded the object by that amount (with create caps checked - in C4D)
I'll try rendering again but my material still isn't right
Cheers, Ric

I presume these are cut and folded from one flat sheet, of the 1mm plastic. You could recreate it with 3 pieces, two sides and the wrap round section.
You'll need to at least join the sections that make up the wrap round section, to stop the light escaping at the joins.
Try with an attenuation of 2mm for the 1mm plastic, if they are now 1mm solid walls instead of a solid object.
Hope this helps,
Tim.
