Hi all ..

I am trying to make a backlit LCD display, so I add the textyure file to the reflactance, and then an emitter, but the light emission from the material are also emitting from the black pixels of the texture..

Think of a checker texture, balck and white. White emits light, black dont ..

anyway to create that ?

any help is appreciated.

Kindly

You can use an mxi in that emitter instead, for example the image you plan to put on the lcd screen.

More info about converting an image to an mxi here:

Great !! thanks a lot :) .. it seems to be working, tho I dont see anyway to control the amount of light being emitted, but atleast it doesnt wash out the colours opf my imagemap :) ..

Still a learning process

You can adjust the intensity when you create the mxi, or afterwards, just reload the mxi in mxcl, adjust it's intensity slider and resave it.

It's adjustable using multilight too, of course.
