Hervé: You're welcome :) nice to hear if you manage to find any use of it..

mmphoto: My pleasure :) and thank you. You only had it for a few weeks, and you read through the entire forum, wow that's a massive amount of reading to do.. :)

Kurt: Thanks :)

I tested this material last night on a object to see if it would work or not and i can't say it worked very well :( it didn't look good once mapped to anything else but Maxwell's materialball thingy. My tests are below, the one's using Modo's mouse model.

A friend pointed me to this Vray version of such a material which i think looks awesome! maybe mine could be rebuilt to look more like this one if it had new maps.. need to look into this more.

Frosty: Thanks for the image, now i understand better what it is you're looking for. And i'll dig through my archive tonight to see if i can piece together something for you. No guarantees..

I started reworking the styrofoam material again by recreating the displacementmap to make it look more like the one in the Vray material i posted above. Mine will be handpainted and not based on procedurals like the other version is. However it should be pretty accurate and nice anyways. :)

Here's what it looks like so far, still got some more painting to do before i can call it finished. Click on the thumb to view it fullres..

Bubba: Thanks and yes you're right, it's a unsmoothed raw surface. I didn't think of that until you mentioned it :) ..and as you suggested, i'm offering both.

Here's the unpolished raw version of my styrofoam. hope it works well :) click the thumbnail below to see it fullres.

Frosty: I searched through my archives (about 30,000 textures) and i had no suitable textures for what you need :( i'm sorry. Once you do have textures it should be a piece of cake to setup the materials for them, it's just a colormap, bumpmap and possibly a specularmap.

Bubba: Thank you.

I saw there are some dutch Maxwell users on this forum.

In Holland we have unique streetstones and street patterns. It's very difficult to find some usuable textures on the internet of them.

I allready begun to add some dutch street materials to the library. If there are more Dutch users wo can add some materials I think, the library will be even more unique and valnuable it allready is.

Which ones are the best settings for "Acid Etched" glass (the one used for table tops or door panels)? I tryed the generic frosties or starting from regular glass adding roughness and I can't get the proper "glow", it always look "dead". Do I need to go with an SSS?

How about "3form" panels with frosted plastic (http://www.3-form.com/materials-chroma.php; http://www.3-form.com/materials-varia-organics.php)?

Thanks.
