OBSOLETE
------------
Hi all,

If you would like to showcase your materials in this library feel free to post:
  • A link for 150x150 thumbnail image
  • A link for a 500x500 image
  • Please make sure your images are final quality.
  • If you wish to share MXM (optional) please post a link to an MXM (*not* MXS) file as well.
Use the object and scene provided here (for uniformity) http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... hp?t=16919

Your thumbnails will be added to the gallery page bellow, (but they will be checked for compliance to ensure illumination is correct and no settings were changed from the original).

That page is made as a separate html so that anyone can link to it (including users who do not have access to this forum). One reason for this thread is to consider material creation as an "art". Something you have made, and are so proud, that you wish to show.

Nice idea :) , but I was thinking...is there any point in showcasing materials without an MXM or at least some indication of how the materials are made?

Maybe this thread should be a sticky one

So, true :)
I can't enforce all to give up their materials ... but is certainly encouraged to share the MXMs.

Some people might be using custom textures which they can't share (which can be a complication).

One reason for this thread is to consider material creation as an "art". Something you have made and are so proud of that you wish to show.

Another one, this time it's something similar to a rough scratched aluminium surface (i hope) :)

Thanks giacob :) but you're right, i been stupid enough to provide the wrong files  i promise to correct that mistake during the day and upload the correct files here again.

Cheers for the reminder and the comments, and yeap i really do enjoy material making with this materialeditor. It's both simple and easy to get good looking realistic materials with it. And taking a break from real renderings to create materials is refreshing :)

[Edit] : Correct MXM's added now in this post as i supplied the wrong files at first (doh!) :D

Aluminium Test - http://rapidshare.de/files/26090688/Alu ... t.mxm.html
Flakey Metal - http://rapidshare.de/files/26090697/Fla ... l.mxm.html
Weathered Gold - http://rapidshare.de/files/26090706/Wea ... e.mxm.html
Worn Steel - http://rapidshare.de/files/26090714/Wor ... 1.mxm.html

I hope these files help more :)

Thank you aitraaz !

... but ... no thumbnail ?

Also, did you chabge the illumination (camera settings, emitters etc) ? ... the ground plane seems darker. (The illumination must never be altered.)
