Interesting looking materials Lutz and blueplanet. Keep them coming

This is supposed to be The Moon, it uses a 4k resolution texturemap and a 4k resolution normalmap. There are even higher resolution maps avaiable for downloading at the url below.

Example..

This material is really good. Is it in the download section? Can't find it.

Also, what is the latest link for this standard object and scene. I've only just found this thread after 3 months of missing posts on the forum. And does anyone have any problems with the mxm download link on the main site? Usually doesn't work for me.

Hiya Will and welcome back! :) where you been for so many months now ?!

I'm glad to hear you liked that lead look-a-like material, but i'm unfortunately sad to have to say i lost the mxm for that material so i can't upload it to the mxm site :( however it shouldn't be too difficult to recreate again and perhaps make it even better looking as the above one was just a quick doodle.

Eric Lagman wrote:Anyone know where the latest version of the test object is? When I download the 6-29 version it does not have the latest features in it like the striped emitter for testing sss and some other nifty stuff that I saw in this thread http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... c&start=15
Well, it is not official yet (only a proposal)

One materialtest i ran tonight, this isn't quite finished. The broken specular highlight thingy is wrong, it should be inverted and another layer is probably necessary for the final surface roughness to look good. I'm sorry it's such a noisy rendering but i only had an hour to do this :(

Anyways i attempted to imitate the look of Malacite.
