Regarding this important topic we should consider that arch viz people sometimes express the need for an alternate test object. It's not being born yet, but some folks may be pregnant already.. so I suggest matching names for both.. Anna and Ortho..

I have to disagree with that. We arch viz people should be able to make the perceptual leap. Besides, it doesn't matter how a material is portrayed, it will be different in other scenes. Although I have seen several textures in the mxm's I've downloaded that don't tile seamlessly and that wasn't apparent on the widget.

I have found the object to work pretty good for ArchVis of materials. In my opinion it is extremely universal. I have made a quite a few- check out my personal gallery under studies/simulated materials.

That is not the fault of the universal material scene by Thomas, that is the fault of the material designer and the textures they have either used or created that are not tileable and should be denoted as such in the description.
