very interesting... how do you use the grass modifier to create those leaves? I was sure it allowed only tubular shapes ..?

to create leaves i use flat grass ;for ex : length = 6cm , width (root and tip ) = 60 mm to get square shape
than i apply material have leaf texture with alpha mask ; each blade have uv channel and we can use any texture
than play with options angle / bend ...

yes grass modifier is a great tool
you can use cylindre type to create carpet ; hair ; coton ...

grass with angle map ; i see the tutorial how to create angle map with photoshop but i didn't have good result
this is test with angle map rendered by maxwell (normal pass) and sculpting with blender

i already post that in the forum : when we add new grass modifier with the first was selected ; all parameters reseted

looks very good. I want to ask you, if it's ok with you....: the materials look really good, what kind of grass MXM do you use? I usually use the generic one from the maxwell 2.7 manual but it lacks richness and variety like yours...

for material i use real grass texture and choose channel 1 ; for better result you can mix it with sss material ( use channel 0 to add map for blades )

tried it but since I work through maya I think there's a problem either with the plugin or with my brains because it never works, I simply cannot assign channel=1 and get a render. I always get a strange error , something like "material is not enough for ..."
