I started from scratch again with this build, but this time I have access to a real studio Eagle transporter!
So the goal is to have the ultimate CAD eagle ( to be build for real ):
This btw is the solid version ( with the discs build in )

This is so cool!!!
As far as fans of the series go, I even heard someone mention the other day that Dr Victor Bergman (from season 1) was his childhood hero
Looking forward to seeing your progress,
Andrew.

This is from before my time but the fact that you modelled that in Solidworks is amazing!!

You've been working on that for 8 years

Can't get enough of the Eagle renders, keep them coming
On a side note, I think the remastered Blu-ray version of the second season of Space 1999 is coming out some time this year.
Andrew.

Now the SSS is really great but I still have complaint about speculars. It was too much specular in the past and now it's very rough for a plastic. You need one more Additive specular layer which is very mild at roughness around 25-35. Just give it a try...

Will do Tom

what I do now is use the pre set milk 2 and f*ck it up

so it's only on layer with roughness set to around 40
my approach isn't very scientific

Then probably bringing it down to 25 will be more than enough...

Additive setup on a transmissive? does that actually work?? (would be great if it did)

Yes, adding a non transmissive on transmissive is safe. Adding transmissive on transmissive is not...

Wow thats interesting, Is that info documented somewhere? it should be.
Is it correct that Thin-sss fails within an additive setup even if only one layer is thin-sss?
