1st Maxwell Render - Kitchen

Hi all,
As I am very new to Maxwell (this is my first ever scene) I just thought I'd share the results. I'm still not happy with the camera setup - even though I seem to have focused on the correct spot, the wall tiles etc seem to be a bit blurred (even though they are very close to the focus point) whilst other objects further away seem sharp. Also, I'm still looking into how to actually light the scene, currently I have a physical sun for the external light. The modelling and surfacing isn't totally finished yet.
Any feedback
especially negative would be very well received to help improve the overall scene.

Sorry, cant help you with Negative feedback...I think it looks great!
Are the tiles geometry or texture+bump/displacement? Maybe it's a texture related problem that causes the blurry appearance?

yes they are texture+bump. Actually, on closer inspection, the bump does seem to alter slightly across the tiles, so I think you are correct with it being a texture prob. I think i will revisit the tiles and change them to geometry.

I think you've got great realism with great materials. Is it me or do some of the tiles by the cooker not look square, maybe a projection scale issue. And I think you're brave to use so many reflective & refractive materials in the scene. It's interesting in the first image how the top half seems to have more noise than the bottom half.

I am struggling with the noise. As a hobbyist/student on a dual core iMac, I don't think i'll ever get noise free. The top image was SL:16 and 26hours for 2000px width. Do images tend to clean up above SL:16 or would the difference between 16 and 18 not be noticeable (just wondering if i should let it render an additional 2 days lol).

Looks great so far -- yes there is alot you can gain in the higher sample levels, but it may not be wise to invest that time until you are sure you have all the UV and material issues resolved.
One thing I would mention is you definitely want to pay attention to your Nd and Force Fresnel settings, particularly for the "additive layer" method of creating a glossy surface. There are some unrealistically reflective surfaces in there and that is definitely an Nd thing.
