GH House was the model provided for Ronen Bekerman's first competition awhile back. I submitted an entry but towards the end I had run short on time and wasn't completely pleased with it so I'm going back now and revising it. I'd love to hear some comments/critiques for the WIP.

-Minotti Van Dyke table in back left
-Minotti Cortina armchair in foreground right (last minute addition so the scale is wrong and the leather material sucks right now.
-Testing out a bit of diffraction/scattering
-Warmed up the lighting a bit

By the way, I could really use some advise on what sort of fixture to use to light up that high ceiling.

Great looking work!

It looks to me that you HDRI is shot in the afternoon or early morning, that's why your ceiling is so dark.

Yeah, I'm looking to light it with artificial lighting. Right now I'm thinking maybe some of these...but it seems a bit tacky perhaps.

Looks great. Looks like to me that it has a little BCJ influences.

Good eye! I'm a very big James Cutler fan ( http://www.cutler-anderson.com/ ), the architect for that project (which if I'm not mistaken was designed for Bill Gates). That was the main influence for the wood and, of course, the column design.

I haven't heard of BCJ before, and didn't realize his influence on that project. I'll have to check out his stuff.

Cutler started with BCJ. Gates house was a collabration between BCJ and Cutler Anderson. Absolutley amazing architecture! I have always said that if i win the lottery the first call i would make is too either one of thoes architects to design my new crib!

Here's another lamp. Testing a SSS material for the shade, with a clip map for the flower design.

The model is free from this website which has a lot of great stuff. http://www.3dmodelfree.com

And another Minotti table, for the dining area. I should note that these Minotti furniture models are coming from the website. They import into 3ds Max in .obj format quite well. I'm just touching them up with some extra beveling and such and adding the materials.
