Club and Wine Room WIP

Just starting this room and could use some help. The yellow arrows point to glass shelves (AGS) with glasses in them (dielectric) against a very glossy black granite. Although this test render is only as SL11, I'm not sure if I'll ever see the glasses. I have two small recessed cans at the top, but increasing the power does little to bring the light all the way down. Any ideas?

All you'll see of the shelves are the edges. Make them special. Put rounded edges on the glass to catch the highlights, and you can use the low grade glass preset. It has a little color to it. That's how I've done it in the past. Another hint - you can use AGS for the top and bottom surfaces of the glass shelves, just put real glass on the edges.

@Bubbaloo: good suggestions, I remember them from other threads.
@rusteberg: you may be right about that, it's at SL 14.82 right now and starting to show better already. In any case will incorporate Bubbaloo's suggestions. Yes, a "champion" client indeed, after this room I have to go outside and incorporate all the landscape architect's work over the entire property.

too violent... I think a place like this is like a small comfy room, where you want to keep harmony between what you drink and environment..

but hey.. just my POV... ok, let's drink beer 'til our nose starts bleeding...

Well, we don't have a tv in our home, it's a very quiet peaceful place...the noisiest machine is my overclocked i7 cranking out Maxwell renders  But this is Nashville, Tennessee, USA, and they looooooooove foooooooooootball and sports in general here  Maybe Brian does too

update @ SL18 (so you see I HAVE been working  ):
Far from being fairly noise free...am concerned about that. This took all night with 8 cores at 3.8 Ghz.

Does turning multilight off significantly increase the speed?

What about the Low Priority setting...if it's running at night with nothing else going on, does keeping it enabled cost me?

This is still vey preliminary, obviously need furniture, some detail work on the brick arches, will likely either change out or modify the chandeliers so they are not so formal. The light inset floor is an Arroway stone floor. Would like to get more light on the face of the wood bar...tried some under-counter light strips but that "flashed" the wood corbels below (that you can hardly see :( ) All comments are appreciated.

I think the reason it's so slow to clear up is because of the low level lighting in the scene. If you could add some strategically placed fill emitters, you should see some improvement in speed.

That would also help with making the detailed woodwork more visible. I'll give it a try. That is what professional photographers do, especially with interiors. But we have the advantage of hiding them from the camera

Any thoughts on whether turning multilight off helps significantly in render speed?
