Hi guys,

I have to render this shape with a decal on it ( see pictures below). But because it is a very organic shape, i can't get the decal right.

I tried to split the shape in half, but unfortunately i get the same bad results :(

The texture in this picture is with cubic projection, because it is the best i get so far. The other projections didn't worked at all

Help please ;)

You would have to do some UV unwrapping to get it right, what is it modelled in? Polygon modellers usually have a UV unwrapping feature now, but you won't find it in nurbs packages like Rhino/SW. You can find some standalone UV unwrappers which can import obj files so you have to first export your model as obj, then create the unwrapped UVs.

Not to confuse the current issue...but Rhino can unwrap using an rhp plugin "unwraprendermesh" -- it needs to be downloaded.

If you have Rhino, check out user support under this thread:

This model is made in Solidworks. I will go searching for some standalone UV unwrappers and i will give that a try. thnx
