Hi guys,
This is a Cyclic of the MH-60S Knighthawk helicopter.
My brother and I are building a flight simulator of this helicopter type (
http://www.heliflightsim.com )
The controls are also my school project. So 9 weeks from now I hope to have these controls in real life. Still a long way to go..
I am using Solidworks for about 5 years now, but this shape was one of the hardest things to do because I had a few pictures and some 2D technical drawings.
Below a clay rendering, More pictures will be added this week.
Hope you like it

Nice model so far! I like to see the wire frame too for complex inorganic models like these, if you don't mind. It can be very helpful for those still working on their modeling skills. (Like me.)

Looks great Jonathan!!

So will you be prototyping it?

Thanks guys
I will try to make a wire frame this week also.
So will you be prototyping it?
Yes, that's the plan;-) i have to make a prototype of the cyclic and collective as well. It's my final year at this school so i have to do deliver a working model.

I have to agree with Tom... really nice modeling... especially that variable radius Fillet in the centre by the screws!!

Cool! what will you be using to prototype it?

I'm not sure yet. I am still looking for some kind of casting resin. I'm planning to make silicone rubber molds, so it's going to be a hell of a job.
ofcourse...any ideas are welcome

Send it to me and I'll 3D-print it
Nice modeling!

That will be great but I don't think my prototype budget will allow a 3D print. We have a budget of € 150, so a 3D print will be to expensive i think. But thanks anyway

Spot On modeling = Spot On Renders! Nice job.

That's an incredible render.

Great modeling too!
