I made some renders for fun and tried to convince other users I made a real plexiglass model to have reference pictures of caustic and refractions ;) but I am not CG God so only few fishes catched a hook ;)

Of course I didn,t win anything because fryrender boss was in JURY. ( just kiddin')

Great idea! Would also be nice to see it with a bit mor "dramatic" light, or a darker background

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe a black, velvety 'infini' (sorry, don't know the English word - just ask Hervé  ) and some nice studio lighting?

THX for all comments.
I want to tell Bubbaloo You had absolutely right about rendering in the bigest resolution that PC can handle.

I rendered this .mxi in 1000X1500 at beginning and caustic kicks my ass badlly at 19 SL it looks like noise will never gone.
So I rendered it in 3000X4500 for THE SAME time (about 16Sl) and after resizing downa , PUFF it,s gone (usual suspect quote ;) )

Thx man.

Glad I can help...

It would be really cool if you put some rough cut marks on the edges, like a saw cut. It would increase the realism even more!

Oh yeah, and buy this Maxwell ready pen, too...   Shameless self promotion!

Very nice, the last time i tried plexi on a scaled model, it was pretty impossible to render that clean :D
