I decided to go for a special german beer bottle and post some WIP stuff.
I'm afraid i won't be able to update very often as I have big Jobs going on atm.So I will be adding images from time to time.

Some of you might know this will end up being a Flensburger

Thanks to Brett Simms for uploading his beer bottle material, I'm making good use of it

Hope you enjoy - Buying a reference bottle on Monday! :)

Looking good so far, and hope the material proves useful. It was an early material for me, so not sure how well optimized it is :)

I'll keep an eye on the thread for sure.

the material looks and bottle looks great.
the reflections looks a bit weird though ... the horizon line on the bottle is much higher than the background. on the bottle there is a near tree reflecting on the right side, but on the image you see branches on the left side. of course this could be possible but it is irritating.
Maybe i'd look great, if the bottle sits in the water and is not flying?

Thanks everybody,

as stated above this was only one of the first renderings I was going for.
I tried one of the hdrs I gathered on my hd and got a pretty decent shot for it is worth so far.

Kami, you may have guessed this... but the Background is a simple compositing with an Image I found on the web.
I tried to pick something that vaguely fits my hdr reflections. I know this is not the proper way to go with but at this stage I was just eager to see what could come out of it.

I think I will move towards a studio lighting setup and perhaps include the bottle into real scenes once I got the materials and detail modelling right.

Hopefully I will have time by end of the Week to show some wires and more renderings.

...cool start.. if the bottle was squashed a little more along the z axis i would take it as an Ufo render

Great work Joris!! Are you going to do the wire clamp?
I have bunches of those bottles around the house, I used to make my own beer.

Cheers, Ron

Hey Ron, thanks man

Yeah, I am/was planning to do all that, but right now I'm pretty busy with jobs, so this is kind of on hold.
Just as the Hands WIP which needs further modeling ... ah yes my weak spot

I met a potential client today who designs beerbottles, so this might be coming back faster than I had thought :D

Well see.
Next Bottle will be with clamp and studio lighting ;)
no more ufos hehe
